Moonlight Benjamin
Moonlight Benjamin is a Haitian-born singer/songwriter/bandleader, who grew up in a protestant orphanage, and is now based in France. As a teenager she started to sing at church.
Her music is unique in the Haitian diaspora. She fuses the gut-level passion of Haitian roots music with the blare and bravado of electric guitar rock. Her band rocks hard throughout. Moonlight’s powerful and rebellious voice, meets the tension of saturated guitars to create an intoxicating voodoo trance in a very new and explosive style.
